What is dating “po-ukrainski”?
So one fine day you were dawned by idea that your personal happiness is in hands of a charming Ukrainian woman. The only one way to find this woman is to plunge into the Internet. It is remarkable that only 10 years ago, the expression «Ukrainian woman» did not exist for Western men. Marriage agents who worked that time in Ukraine had to explain to such men that “Ukrainian” designates almost the same as “Russian” but … it – is better! Why it is better? Well, even Russian men allocate Ukrainian women (whom they tenderly name «khokhlushki») and give them preference before Russian beauties. The reason is that Ukrainian woman is not only the sample of natural Slavic beauty but also she is a carrier of very important family qualities. By definition she should be good in housekeeping (first of all it means that she is very good in cooking), she is a good mother (you hardly can find a Ukrainian woman who would tell to you that she does not want to have children at all), and she is a faithful companion to her husband (by the way, the Ukrainian word “druzhyna” -means wife - occurs from a word “friend”).
Nowadays Ukrainian women are already not exotic in international marriage catalogues. There are hundred thousand of beautiful women who place their profiles in marriage agencies and on international dating web-sites in a hope to find a decent Western man for marriage.
Where to search?
Well, of course, on the Internet. There is a huge quantity of sites, marriage networks, catalogues where you can find profiles of Ukrainian women. Without going into details, I wish to give an advice: do not over trust sites, where ladies write to you the first. Find the agency where the choice remains after you. Try to communicate with a woman not only by e-mails but also by phone and by video-chats. Well, Ukraine is not the backward country and all kinds of communications are now accessible to Ukrainians. Before going thousand kilometers towards to your destiny be convinced that she really knows about you and is adjusted on a meeting with you!

The visa is not necessary to the majority of the tourists arriving to Ukraine today. You can fly to one of 8 international airports in Ukraine. The majority of the international tourists arrives to the airport Borispol (Kiev). Very often I faced the situation when a man asks a woman to meet him at the airport. I do not think that it is reasonable. Firstly, on the first real date you should look fresh and accurate. Then the important attribute of the first meeting is bouquet of flowers. Allow the lady to expect you in her native city. When you safely lodge in a hotel or apartment, be freshened and ready for a meeting – then move forward!
Often clients ask me when they can expect more “close relations” with a woman. Well, it depends… I can tell that sometimes in your understanding it will be long enough. It is possible that in your first visit, especially if it lasts up to 7 days, “very close acquaintance” will not take a place. For Ukrainian women it is normal. They have certain stereotypes and fears, and in the Ukrainian society it is considered that if it is a question about serious relations you should not hasten with sex – a woman can be considered by a man as an easy available… BUT! If the lady of your heart continues to «dinamit» you (a very Russian expression that means to encourage but not to give) along several visits, in most cases I can tell with full confidence – you waste your time in vain!
The “konfetno-buketnyj” (candies&flowers) period.
The courting period should be accompanied by flowers, gifts and pleasant surprises. It is a part of marriage game when a man promises to a woman to indulge and care about her in the future as good as at the courting moment. It is not necessary to spend too much money on gifts. Anyway it should be! Obligatory, if you are invited in her family, bring small gifts as well to each member of a family – to her child, mother, father, sisters-brothers. Let it will be a trifle, but it will be pleasant to everybody and you will leave a good impression about yourself. However I would not advise to bring as gifts baseball caps, T-shirts and other similar souvenirs from your country. Times when these things could impress Ukrainians has passed already …

You felt in love and your lady loves you too? Our congratulations! Do not hesitate with a marriage proposal and start a fiancee visa process as soon as possible. Believe me, it will take so much time, nerves and experiences that if you have later any doubts in correctness of the decision you made, you can always stop the procedure. Do not lose time and do not allow your loved woman to doubt about gravity of your intentions!
